Oem Ipod Interface To Nav Head Unit

Ok, I was sucked into the deals GM is giving right now and just bought a 2008 2500 HD with the Bose and factory NAV unit. While working with my dealer I was told and even read in the Chevy brocures that there was an OEM factory available iPod interface cable. Chevy even has this on their web site. I asked my dealer to order this for me because I LOVE listening to my iPod in my truck. Now he has come back to me and said they really don't have this. Is this really true? Does anyone else have any experience with this? Chevy is STILL saying they have this on their website.

Is there or isn't there a factory iPod interface for the factory NAV head unit?

I don't get it . . . they are advertizing it. They say they have it. Ya, it says "Late Availability" but it is almost October.

Personal Audio Link - (PAL)

The Personal Audio Link (PAL),(1) available from Chevy Accessories, turns up the volume on vehicle personalization by bringing your iPod®(2) and your vehicle audio system together. Hidden within the glove box, this cool connection lets you utilize the factory radio controls to navigate your personal music library. As an added benefit, the iPod charges while it's connected and the ignition is on.

If it's not out yet don't bother waiting for it and go get a IPod Lockpick or a Peripheral Electronics IPod interface. Both are super easy to install.

I have the Non-Nav OEM head unit and I went with the Scosche iPod intergration unit. This unit is usable with a Nav unit too. Plug & Play and cannot get any easier. Songs, playlists, artists, ect show on the screen. Cost was $146 shipped. It took my about 10 minutes to install.

Thanks guys. I am looking at the Scosche and the Lockpick products. I haven't heard of Peripheral Electronics before. Right now I am leaning towards the Lockpick. A couple of people on the boards have been talking about the Blue Fusion by Scosche. But I don't see the advantage of that product over the Generation 5 Lockpick.

It said the same thing when I bought my truck in June '07...

I've tried looking, but can't seem to find this out for sure:

Does the Scosche ipod integration unit charge the ipod at the same time it is connected?

Thank you.

Yes it does.

Best Buy carries the Peripherial Unit. They are about $150.00. I've installed one in a NBS Sierra Denali with nav and love it. It charges it and works with the steering wheel controls.

i just had one installed today in my 08 sierra denali with nav unit .It shows the songs and you can skip foward and back on the steering wheel but the instructions are not for a nav unit it will work better with more options available on a non nav unit the instruction book shows a non nav radio.

I have this one too, I got it off a seller on Ebay for like 130 shipped with the vehicle specific wire that you need. Go with this one bro over the lockpick. The lockpick only lets you play "Playlists". The Peripherial lets you search through your whole iPOD for what you want to play.

I got the lockpick and sent it back.

I found the Ebay Seller http://stores.ebay.com/AudioPartsAdapters_...Z19605544QQtZkm
