I think I have a spring problem. on my 05 Sierra 2wd Crew Cab.... If I stand on the back bumper of my truck I can make it move just by stepping on and off of it. I have changed the shocks becasue they were bad when I bought it and went to the Bilstien HD shocks. Im about to tow my Jeep cross country (from Florida to Cali on wed.) and Im really leary about the springs strength. Am I concerened over nothing or are the springs supposed to be stiffer.... the trailer weights 1500lbs and it will settle the truck out on its own. How do I tell if its got the correct springs for the towing package do they have a tag or something that specifies that they are? Thanks in advance.

All 1/2 ton trucks have the same rear springs, the only difference is shocks. You will be fine. You are only affecting the regular springs when you step on it, the overloads will support more weight when you add enough to engage them.

If you are still greatly concerned about it, you might consider putting a set of Timbrens on. Do a search for Timbren. It took no tools to put a set on the front of my 03 when I added a snow plow.
