I recently purchased a navigation head unit on ebay for my 2005 Yukon XL that has the correct codes to accept this non-lux bose system. When I first connected it, the screen read "Theftlock activated" So I promptly made an appointment at the local GM dealer to "relearn the VIN" After an hour and some cash, the report camre back that I need some sort of GM adaptation kit worth $1700 to make this work. Has anyone had experience doing what I am trying to do, and what was your result?

Thanks

WOW!!! that is crazy!!!!! I swapped on of my buddies trucks cd player out for nav and the only thing ihad to have wass some sort of antenna adapter.....sounds like the unit you have may not have come with everything. We got his nav unit out of a wrecked yukon and took all the wiring harnesses we could get. I couldnt imagine a wiring harness for that nav unit costing 1700.. :D

I put a 1580000 in my o4 Avalanche that had Bose(no Onstar). Simple plug and play. Mine came with the VIN already unlocked.

What's the part number on the NAV unit?

All they are doing is a VIN clear. Have they at least done that for you?
