Removing Side Moulding

How hard is it to remove the side moulding? It's starting to look bad and is loose in a couple of spots. Is it just glued on or bolted somehow?

Not hard at all… They are applied with double sided tape. You can use a hair dryer to help get the removal process started and they pull right off. We just removed them from my friends ’06 this past spring using this process followed with an eraser wheel (rubber wheel in a drill motor to remove residual tape) swirl reducer and wax and you cant tell they were ever there.

Thanks, That sounds good. I think the truck will look much better without the moulding.

Do it! Trucks with the OEM flares look tits with the molding off. :puke:

I did mine with my thumbs, and they were sore for about 2 weeks. :D Wish I had thought to get an eraser wheel... :D

EDIT: While you're down there, you might as well take the rest of the badges off too. :loser:

Ask his mom that question and you might get a straight answer. :P:P

Along with the heat try pulling some dental floss along the molding with an up and down motion between the paint and adhesive. That seems to take a lot of the glue with it when you're pulling ot off.

I really only think it looks right with fender flares, without it just looks too flat to me.
