Westin Step Bars

I've got a 2008 GMC 1500 Crew Cab Short Box... was looking at putting

westin bars on it... Stainless Steel but not sure whether to get the

new 21 series oval or the 26 series round. Whats odd is that

the new oval ones are running about $405 and the 26 series are $460

(both model 1950) The only thing I can see different in the descriptions

are that the 21s say "polished", and the 26s say chrome.

 

I would expect the oval to be more expensive... but then again if

they are polished and not chromed that may account for the price

difference.. personally I think polished SS is better than chrome..

nothing to scratch off.

 

Anyone have either, or know anything about the westin bars?

Well, my thought is that the chrome would be more. But another thing to consider is that the oval steps most likely doesn't come with the mounting hardware. I was looking at buy the westin 4" chrome plated ovals, which were just under $500, and then the salesman also told me that the mounting harware was sold seperately, and was another $100 + dollars. So I've decided to go with the GM 6" oval step bars instead.....seeing how its only another $40 w/ hardware included.

FYI...

 

I dug around on the westin site more... looks like that there is an oval tube kit

that uses generic straight tubes... that requires a seperate mounting kit specific

to the truck model. (22 series)

 

The one I am looking at is new for 2008, has 90 degree bends and includes

mounting kit.
