Interior Color

I have a 2001 Yukon that someone broke my right door glass out & stole my empty ashtray (nothing else but the ashtray is missing) so I get the glass replaced & go to the dealer for a new ashtray. The parts guy say they need the last 8 digits of the VIN ( 1R163663 ) he says the VIN says the color is SHALE but the only colors that he can get are GRAPHITE, GRAY & PEWTER. Does anyone know if they change the name SHALE to any of the aval. colors? All 3 color are spec. order and nonreturnable @ $61 I don't want torder the wrong one.

I list Shale as being available (Interior trim code 92I) Although sometimes it is refered to as Pewter,Its part number 15044465 This is the one in the dash.

Why the hell would someone break in only to steal your ashtray

They must have thought you had some money in there,I know some people do keep change and a couple bucks in there.

Kids. They once broke the sliding rear window on my '90 just to steal all the fuses out of the fusebox and all of my spares out of the glove box.

I had kids (years ago) break into my truck back door. Cap. They pried it open with a screw driver or some type of wedge. Bent the glass frame.

 

The back handle/latch was UNLOCKED !!!

Thanks MS3DALE for the part number. Now it's time to burn up the internet and see if I can find a better price.
