I've seen the GMPP CAI (#17800809) on eBay for $310 plus $20 shipping. Has anyone found them any cheaper.......are there better deals to be had? I'd like to pick one up before the Midwest Blackbear tune. Thanks

I got mine NIB on ebay for $300 shipped. But I had to "wheel and deal" with the seller. He wanted $300 + $20 shipping, I negotiated free shipping. This was about a year ago.

I'm a newb so forgive me, but does the CAI make a noticeable difference?

That's debatable.

I'm using the GM CAI in conjunction with the GM Touring exhaust.

Both were done on the same day.

Not sure if one made more of a difference than another.

I installed a AFE StageII CAI a few weeks before my exhaust and it made a noticeable difference, I felt the exhaust only added noise. BTW my gas mileage DECREASED after the exhaust by 1mpg (could just be my foot got heavier wanting to hear the sound lol) The CAI should INCREASE your mpg by atleast 1mpg from what I have seen with my truck.

CAI's look nice and sound cool, but that is about it. Any HP/MPG increase will be minimal at best, and only at high RPMs.

Technically, the stock airbox is a CAI, the only difference would be the filter quality and the lack of silencer chambers.

With that said, I love my GMPP CAI. It looks sweet and sounds good. :loser:

I'm assuming you need a nice exhaust to hear a difference? I'm saving up for the GMPP touring. I don't want the drone at highway speeds... :loser:

Nope, my exhaust is stock. My CAI provides all the sound I want.

Not sure since I installed both CAI and touring exhaust at the same time. While it feels like there is more "KICK" when I punch it, it may all be in my head. It does sound louder but as you point out, the touring exhaust is inaudible at highway speeds. Sweet.

Yep, me too! The GMPP CIA did seem to help while towing my TT, seems to get up to speed a bit better. Looking forward to installing the AEM DryFlow Filter when it arrives and see if it helps any more. We're heading to the mountains Holloween weekend, so hopefully it will arrive before then...

Thats a great deal. I found mine used (like new) on craigs list for $275 shipped. I love it too, and believe it helped throttle response.

I think it was well worth it.

That's a great price. That had to make you sick about missing out on the exhaust by only $5!
