2008 Silverado Nav

Hey guys/gals

 

I have a problem I bought a nav unit off ebay GM part# 258991155 per the deal today that radio is for a 09 ride, I have the radio installed in the truck it some what works, XM is not there or the AUX option just AM/FM. Audio level is very low with no bass it sounds like a pre-output to drive a amp. does anyone have any ways to get this working with out adding a amp to it? is there a code the dealer needs to program the BCM? I do not have the Y91 RPO code I think I have the UQ3 RPO code.

I do not know the new 09 part numbers, but if it had a bose option and your truck does not you will need the amp. I do not know what to say about the XM and Aux options mine worked fine after the dealership did teh VIN relearn -- David

I took it to another dealer today and I don't even think they hooked it up to a computer at the shop, I wish we had a just a OK dealership in my area. oh well thanks for the info.

Chris - Good luck. You might ask for the guys that install the new car accessories/new car make ready. The tech that did mine did all the "add-ons" sold at the dealership. New more about it than anyone I have seen. Best of luck - David
