Will 35's Rub

Yes. 35' tires will rub. 35" tires on the other hand may stuff in there with stock wheels depending on the width of the tire. Count on at least cranking the torsion bars.

I plan on getting Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels 15x12.

So what is the biggest tire I can use with no lift kit. I am willing to the trim wheel wells and crank the torsion bars.

crank the torsoin bars alll the way. stock up on front end parts. and dont worry about fender trimming. once you turn the wheels itll rip the fender off all together

Edit: But seriously, if you're gonna do it, do it right the first time. Dan should be in here soon to list all the front end parts you'll get to replace with excessive torsion bar cranking (it's a lot). And why would you want 35's unless you're gonna do something off-road? Cramming them in there with no lift will give you almost no room to go up and down without rubbing.

I had 285's on my 2000 and they fit without rubbing and it was stock height. That was the biggest I could fit though, and I do not recall the rest of the size spec, but I believe they were 285/70R16 or 75R16. They measured just about 32" in dia IIRC.

And yes, yes I will. :D

To the OP, how wide are the tires you plan to run? And a 12" wide wheel is too wide for a 35x12.5" tire. And if this is on your '99, a 15" wheel won't fit, it will interfere with the brake caliper.

Aside from that, there's no way you can fit 35s on a stock truck, you'll need either a 6" lift, or a 3" body lift, and a TON of trimming.

You could try to fit them on a body lift and cranked-to-hell torsion bars, but you'll go through inner and outer tie rod ends, ball joints, idler, and pitman arms very quickly, and your truck will ride like shit.

Long story short, NO you absolutely can NOT fit 35s on a 12" wide wheel on a stock truck.

Do you like reducing your gas mileage by 4 MPG and making it a complete dog off the line, as well a poor performer off road (unless you install lower gears)?. Then by all means lift the truck 6" and put the monster tires on.

Ok thanks for the info, there was a set of new 35's on cragslist for $400, thats the reason I was considering this. I will probably get 33's, does anyone know the widest 33 I can use? Thanks
