Looking At An 83' Scottsdale 4x4

Im looking at it today, its 4x4 350 4 speed, winch, toolbox looks like its in great shape.

 

What should i look for?

 

How can i tell if it has a 205 T-case?

 

I know 10 and 12 bolts but how do i know if its got a dana 44 in front?

Im not sure about the older t-cases but there should be a round tag riveted to the case that will say what number is. At least that is what it is like on the 88-on trucks. I can't help you out on the Dana axles, I've never been able to identify them myself. Just check it over like you would a regular truck. Door corners rusted out on ours pretty easy and the cab corners and above the bed wheel wells. Just make sure that they are pretty solid. And make sure to get some good pictures. I miss my old Scottsdale and wish I could get it back.

well i couldnt pass up the deal, its a nice truck older man took good care of it, il get pics up soon

 

its a 3/4 ton and drove awesome, needs a new switch thing when you push the clutch in to start it

Thanks Guys! so far i like it, cant wait to take it elk hunting this year

 

I picked it up for 2 grand. A guy inherited it from his grandpa who died and had to sell it. It was his hunting rig.

 

The tire are 235 85 16's a little skinnier that i like but i think they will work for a while, there pretty new.

 

Everything looks really good on it, except the seat, but im getting a seat cover for it

That is a good looking truck. I had a '74, that would handle any abuse that I could give it. I like that style.

Does anyone by chance know how replace the neutral start switch on one of these with a clutch?
