Power Gains With The 8.1

k well i have a 2001 reg cab 8.1 and it already has duals on it but i wanted to go with more power and mileage and i think i have decided to go with the westers 91-93 octane HOT tune cold air intake and stainlessworks headers.. what power gains should i see or be making and mileage too and what else could i add for power?

Remember, this is a truck..... A big Motor truck... Think of 8 coffee can for pistons that all require a certain level of fuel to keep from leaning out and detonating. You may eek out a little mileage, but for the most part, mileage is going to stay around the 8-12 range c/hwy and varies more with the weight of your right foot than anything. Some of the 6 spd guys are getting better mileage, but ALLison guys are all pretty much the same within that range.

That said, I have JBA headers, K/N filer only, 4.10's, 2wd, Iridium at .45 gap, and a wait4me performance tune due to cheap price (very happy with them). I've averaged 12.3 on the hwy at 72mph and 10mpg in the city. I'm happy with it, but don't think that any tune is going to just magically bump your mpg by 2-3+.. It just won't happen.

I have a simular truck with the Westers tune, Volant cai, magnaflows, Granitelli Mass air sensor, I also used a handheld Preditor tuner prior to the westers tune which might offer a bit more performance, my mileage has not changed much, but the fun level has increased, Its not a sports car but very fast.
