I've recently been doing what I always do before I make a major purchase; I go to a forum that has people buying WAAAY "bigger" things than I ever will. So when I started looking into car audio, I found Steve Meade Designs. Forum full of people who spend their money on hearing loss. ...And well I found this.

Gmc Yukon 8x12" Built By 16 Year Old.

Needless to say, I'm impressed.

Oh god no. I've seen enough trucks with 37 flatscreens, 25 subs, every gaming system out there, and suede inserts with flames in them.

Oh yeah. This guy isn't competing to make money for this. This is just a hobby of his. Wanna see just how expensive?

Try pricing the subs. They are all the way at the bottom of the page.

Now do you see why I say I'm not getting into that caliber of speaker?

EDIT: And if you want to take it one step further, that's just the tip of the iceburg. The current draw those amps have is ridiculously high. This guy is running 4 200 amp alternators IIRC (and its highly likely I'm not).

EDIT2: But I've also chalked it up to just deciding what it is you want to do with your money. It's the same way a few people will want to toss a few thousand dollars into their engines. Same basic idea, different application.

I don't care for the finished exterior look but WOW that kid did a nice job! I love the headliner (it takes balls to be different) The interior work and system setup look very well done and professional.

I'd say Mom and Dad need to be thanked for all of the CASH involved.
