DarrinNOLA Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I've spent weeks searching through the forums for some feedback, but I'm just not sure of the answer yet. I want to put the 3" RC suspension lift on my 2008 Sierra, 2WD, Crew Cab. The kit is offered in 2 options. The first option is simply a front strut spacer, 1.5" rear blocks, and new shocks (about $150). The second option adds new control arms and ball joints (for a total of about $350). My question is...How important are the new control arms and ball joints? An RC rep wouldn't directly answer my question, obviously for liability purposes. He said the new arms and joints are a little bit longer and more heavy duty than the stock parts. Please suggest whether it is completely necessary to have new arms and joints for the lift. The savings in parts will help me towards labor costs. Anyone who has used this lift, I'd appreciate some first-hand feedback on installation time, difficulties...before and after pictures. I know...another RC thread. Booooooooo!
j_stew88 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I don't know much about this lift, but from what I have read on other posts about this subject, they say you need to go ahead and get the "premium" package
wlvrn1215 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 The kit is absolute garbage...I took it off. The leveling kit is good though. Search and you'll find all the info your looking for. Trust me the kit is a Pain in the butt. Save up and get a quality 6 inch.
Biggie Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 haha i swear there must be some really bored dude who keeps making a new profile and asking the same thing about rough country over and over again just to see how long it takes to piss us all off, "hey, did a search on here, Rough Country 3''? " NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wlvrn1215 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 me thinks the same.....and what the hell is the premium package??? there is only 1 type of lift that RC makes for the GMT 900 and its crap!
j_stew88 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 the premium package would be obviously referring to the better package. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the lift comes in basic and premium aka. "better" package (with arms and joints)?
