A Very Strange Question, I Need Answers!

Chevenator was nice enough to help me out with answers to archery, which I decided to get into. I purchased a new bow, loaded with all the goodies and arrows recommended by chevenator.

These arrows are carbon, made by beaman and have bright florescent tails (orange, green, yellow) all florescent looking and stand out real good, or NOT!!!!

I swear to GOD, I have spent all after noon looking for lost arrows, arrows that simply disappeared ,magically. Last night I asembled the bow and set up my yellow jacket target and shot three arrows towards target, the bow wasn't adjusted correctly as I couldn't pull it all the way back, but the arrows still shot. The taget was set up in front of my mound and all 3 arrows missed the target by X amount of feet. I was standing about 35 ft away from target last night. I saw where each arrow landed, and one landed softly on top of mound which disappeared into thin air. Then set target up in dirrection location on other side of mound where mound is taller. Anyway, shot two arrows and heard both of them hit the ground, and recovered one, and another one simply vanished into thin air.

I conducted a search last night for about 1 1/2 hours, because they could have only possibly landed in one direction, and that particular area the grass is not tall, nor thick and I just cleaned the property up of leafs two days prior. So finally I decided to look the following day (today during daylight hours). So I then packed it up and went inside and did some tweaking on the optical sight and such.

Today I went outside to practice about 12:15 pm, and had 7 arrows with me, before that I did a quick search for the two missing arrows and nothing. So anyway I decided to shoot some arrows at the target, and after about shooting the arrows about 9 times, my last shot hit a rock and richocheted the arrow. I saw the florescent clip at end of arrow fly off and land near corner on top of mound, and the arrow do a flip and go to top of mound towards the center of the mound. When I got up there I couldn't find the arrow. Looked for 20 minutes, finally I was able to find the rear clip. So I searched again, this time for about 1 1/4 hours, again nothing. So then i took out the back back blower and blew what ever leafs that had fallen over night into the woods, keeping a close eye on ground and making sure I find arrow's that went missing. After cleaning up all the leafs in back yard, nothing!

Then got on ATV and drove around area and into woods thinking it might of got into woods, again nothing. Finally it got dark as the sun set and 5 hours of searching was nothing but a waste of time.

Now I just have to ask this question, to set my mind at ease.

I thoroughly searched high and low for these 3 missing arrows, arrows made by beaman that are carbon and have florescent colors such as yellow, green, and orange on the tails. Those colors stand out real well, just like a 1980's teeny booper with there fllorescent clothing.

Now for the ridiculous question.... Do beamen arrows have a limit on how many times they can be shot, and there for will simply vanish of the face of the planet? I literally saw the area where all the missing arrows landed (approximate area) and there is no evidence at all in those areas "which btw where all in the same 15 ft radious area" where they went missing.

I've searched so hard and throughly and with determination, that I found part of the missing humming bird feeder which was missing for over a year, and old .22 shell casings which I shot off a very long time ago from this area (3 years ago). I am not color blind, nor a Forest Gump, I simply want answers as to what the hell happened to my arrows. I am about to purchase a metal detector and go over the area. There is no way they could of simply disappeared.

They should make GPS tracking arrows, think of all the time saved finding arrows and no more hard to find blood trails. This would be a very popular gadget. The small GPS units could fit into arrow itself and hunters would have a handheld unit pin pointing it to the arrow. I would love to have that right about now.

They probably just buried themselves under the grass/brush or whatever else is back there. When they hit the ground, they're going almost horizontal (most of the time), and they just slide under everything. I'd set up a backstop behind the target. A net with tiny holes, or a loose piece of canvas would probably work best, but an old tarp laid over some hay bales should work too.

They're not under the grass. My lawn is mostly in the shade all year, except for when leafs are off trees like now, so lawn doesn't get thick like full sun lawn. They are gone man, vanished! I looked through the grass even where I saw that one arrow come to rest on, plus I shot a few arrows that went under grass and easliy spotted them. They are no where to be found, something I can't see took them away, like a ghost perhaps? You're from NJ, DV, and don't live that far of a drive from me, you're more invited to have a look see for yourself. I'll show you exactly where I was standing when shooting the arrows and where each one that went missing went. They simply disappeared, I swear to God! I'm not kidding around here. I even flipped open my spa's cover and looked inside spa to see if they somehow broke laws of physics to get inside. I have no idea where they went to.

If you want to come by and look for yourself, you're more then welcomed to, i'll be home all weekend looking for them AGAIN. I'm losing my mind here, i mean arrows.

Tie a long string to the rearend of the arrows, then follow the string.

LOL

funny as that sounds... it just might work. Some spiderwire fishing line. :D

 I'll pass on helping you look for the arrows, but I've seen them manage to bury themselves in really short grass, they just kinda stick in the ground, and slide under the roots. Is there any metal on them? Maybe get a metal detector?

You've got a wormhole in space-time in your back yard!

The other end will probably open over top of some unsuspecting Tundra or Ford owner who will all of a sudden have all these arrows coming at him!

But really  Maybe buried in the mound? If they have metal tips on them then you could use a metal detector to find them.

FAIL! I beat you on the metal detector idea! HAHA! I WIN!

Then again, you have a brand new Tahoe, so i guess you win...

I forgot to mention the idea it would be a good idea to buy about 10 bales of wheat straw and make a big blockade around the target before you start shooting! I honestly thought that I would have heard from you when you got the bow! Sorry about that...

But yeah like Dan said... Think "horizontal" shafts moving at about 300 fps and with the power of your bow compared to mine those arrows are likely lodge underneath the dirt.. The first good rain you get should help unearth them..

Another thing that will help you out is sight you bow at 20 yrds. 60 ft... Because at 20 yards and on back away from the target you will loose about 1" of height ever 5-10 yrds back from 20. So at 30 you will lose an inch by the time the arrow hits the target from when it left the bow...

Remember if you are shooting low you need to raise your pin, if you are shooting high you need to lower your pin.... Make sure that you are trying to aim for the bulls eye and if the arrow goes to the left of the circle adjust the entire site to the right.. The entire thing should slide..

Once you have the bow on the top pin set at 20 yrds and you are getting pretty consistent go to 30 yrds and adjust the 2nd pin down...

Also as you are shooting and I know that you are wanting to shoot coons and deer there are a couple more things that might be an issue so just let me know..

 And as the grand prize winner you receive this very unusual area of spatial disruption. We're not sure what it is, but we dare you to moon it!

 Brand new Tahoe, winner? The winner of much higher insurance costs!

You honestly think they are totally under the ground? Will bow have enough power to totally sink an arrow under the ground? Fletches and all?

Btw here is a picture of the bow with the arrows mounted on them, i just took this pic.

Unless Canada's insurance rates are ungodly high, I think I might have ya beat. Remember, I'm only 18, and I live in Jersey, which is notorious for shitty drivers. Geico wouldn't even cover NJ drivers for the longest time.

And I ain't mooning anything, unless it's the toilet seat. Speaking of which...

Looks awesome!!! Yeah dude, I know this sucks but I have done it many times but you really need to get on your hands and knees once you get past the target following the path that they arrrows took...

Are you losing your knock's? The part of the arrow that locks into the strings?? Another thing to consider: If you have a Whisker Biscuit site you need to watch how you set up the arrows... I think that I have that same rest and there is 1 vein that is on its own against the other 2 that share the same color... The vein should be facing up... I had veins like that and there were clearance issues but I dont think you will experience this..

Have you got the arrows hitting the targets?

    • Whoever greenlighted the work truck matte black front bumpers on every trim but the AT4X should be fired!  I was hoping that was an AI mistake, but just realized they were on every model of the 2027 Silverado too.     Some parts of the interior do look premium, but the Denali Ultimate dashboard looks like an afterthought.  At least they appear to have lost the microfiber the high end Silverado models showed, but the '27 High Country dash looks better than the Denali.
    • New member here. I am researching a read-first event-recorder concept for late-model GM V8 trucks. This is not a sales post. There is no product link, price, preorder, or mailing list. I am trying to determine whether the underlying problem is real before building anything.   Has your truck ever had a brief problem such as: - rough running or a momentary misfire - an oil-pressure warning or unusual pressure event - reduced power or a brief stall - a U-code or lost-communication problem - a symptom that disappeared before the dealer or independent shop could reproduce it   If so, I would appreciate the following details: - year, model, engine, and mileage - what happened and under what conditions - whether a DTC and useful freeze-frame data were stored - whether the shop was able to reproduce it - what the eventual confirmed repair was, if known - what additional information would have helped the diagnosis   The concept being evaluated is a removable leave-in recorder that continuously retains a rolling window from before and after an event. It would not tune, reflash, clear codes, or change the vehicle calibration.   I am also not claiming that it could predict lifter failure or see every internal ECM variable.   The real question is whether continuous event history would add enough useful evidence beyond freeze frame, GDS2, and existing scan tools — or whether it would simply be another unnecessary gadget.   For owners and technicians, which problem would make something like this genuinely useful: 1. intermittent misfire or AFM/DFM-related behavior 2. oil-pressure events 3. lost communication or electrical faults 4. none of the above Please be blunt. Negative feedback is just as useful as positive feedback.
    • No tears over the SLE and SLT trim levels disappearing but I kind of loathe the "Elevation" name. It's a truck--skip the elegance.   The slab-dashboard design is decidedly different. Almost has a Hummer flavor to it. "Professional Grade" seems to be leaning very white-collar, tech-driven these days moreso than blue-collar, functional design.   The Silverado would be my choice between the two new trucks. Pleased with the engine lineup in both. The GMC is a little "too much" for a truck, IMO, and the Denali borders on ridiculous - but I do know there are buyers for luxury trucks out there. It's just not my speed.

    • - I like the outside but not as much as the Chevrolet.  They ICE'd the EV styling and it works, but I think exterior goes to Chevy on this one.     - SLE and SLT dead = Not.  Surprising.  Fits into the rest of the GMC lineup like this which (aside from Pro) matches the rest of the family.  Elevation, AT4, Denali.     - Interior.  Sophisticated Malaise era.  Why do I say Malaise?  Drawn with a ruler.  Rectangles everywhere.  Looks very premium though.
