Gas Prices

At another forum, I had a thread going about how I think gas will hit $2.00 a gallon by Winter, and there was practically everyone in disagreement. Well according to day, a NJ gas station was selling 87 for $1.72, and premium fuel for $1.98 at another station.

So as of now I am gonna take a big leap, and predict by Jan, someone will see .99 cents a gallon for .87. This is about the time (give or take a couple weeks from now) where the gas stations start to transition over to the winter grade gasoline, and prices usually drop .30-.75 cents a gallon. The last time I paid under a buck for gas, was in 2002. I filled up with 87 for only .92 cents, and premium was like $1.12. That was during the winter of 01-02, or might of been 02-03, i forget.

Anyway, I saw on FNCHD, that GM is trying to sell the large SUV's that aren't selling, and in some cases are reducing prices by $15,000 along with 0% finacing. Now the only con, is lending. They were talking about how people that have a less then 700 credit score were being turned down on loans. I think this applies to certain banks, but not limited to one. I also heard that GM is planning on post poning certain 09 releases, they didn't specify what vehicles, but I have a feeling The Camaro could be one of them. If Congress goes ahead with this bail out, they will enforce stipulations that GM focus alot of attention on fuel efficient cars like the Volt, and Hybrid equipped vehicles. Keep in mind, gas prices aren't falling for the right reasons, they are falling because of bad economy and people are not spending money. Japan just annouced that they are officially in a recession and Europe is on the brink of one too.

We the people need to jump start the economy, we need to start spending, not go all out nuts, but keep the Country going. If GM should go under, it would drag the US down with it. The Auto industry, GM, Chrysler, Ford are a very powerful enitity, and if they go down, close to a 1/2 million people would lose their pension, the suppliers would go under, and so on. Health care provided by GM would go down, I mean this is a serious situation. There is over 7000 GM dealerships in the US alone, as compared to toyota and honda where they don't even come close in dealerships in the US.

If you have a friend that needs a new vehicle, you should spread the word and sway them into buying a GM vehicle. We need to keep the big 3 alive, especially GM who owns 8 different auto Co's. We all need to contribute here and keep this country from falling into a recession (An Official recession). The market is doing horrible! Almost 1/2 of what it was. The negative ripple effect is traveling faster these days, and it doesn't seem like it is going to slow down any time soon.

I agree with what your saying for sure, although i won`t be rusing out to purchase a new vehicle, i WILL be investing in an array of GMPP goodies for my big block! stuff is alot more affordable!

yeah.. at work weve picked up on sale of suv's... they are marking them off big time..and i heard the plants are going into overtime to meet the demand. good thing for now. I love paying 1.99 for gas... my truck gets 10-12 mpg...and so 40 bucks to fill it up now is awesome!! it was double that... at the end of the summer!!
