900 Bucks To Fix Two Small Dents?

Jeez, body shops are making a killing...I've been fixing little misc things on the truck lately, just got my one bumper piece totally repainted and it looks great. I have two quarter sized dents, one on the front fender and the other on the bed just below the rail. Took it to a body shop that's right next door to my dealer (and recommended by my service rep), and they quoted me 900 bucks...I was like "I'll think about it"...I showed the quote to my grandmother (who was gonna help pay as it was my grandfather that put the dents in it) and so I said "I can just get fricking fender flares for 1/3 of the price". So now I got some pocket style Stampede flares ordered from Ebay....The flares'll cover the front dent but I'm thinking about just buffing out the scratched part of the rear as it's not as noticeable...

So is 900 a reasonable thing? Seems like they're doing a lot of unnecessary removal of parts (front headlight, rear tails, stickers, fender wells, etc)....

That depends on what kind of quality you want.

You could always go to a discount shop that just masks over everything and paints...... If you like your truck then you will regret it..........

If you want the job done right then you will have to remove all lights and stickers and everything so you can properly prep and paint the dented areas.

Here are some scaled-down pics, sorry if the angles are wrong but it's hard to get them to show up properly on the camera...

And a nice glory shot including my repainted bumper piece...If you look on my profile, it'll show a bad paint spot where I tried spraying it myself and FUBARed it to hell and back.

Yeah, I was more expecting it to be in the 3-400 dollar range...So I'm taking care of the front one by getting fender flares, which I was gonna do anyways cause my tires pick up rocks a LOT and I have plenty of rock chip damage, and it'll protect the rest of the body at the same time....
