I finally made the leap and bought an ipod (touch). This thing is awesome. My only problem is my brother setup some music on it when I was visiting this past week and when I got home to put more music onto it it wont let me I have to erase what I have on there because it was a different play list. Does anyone know how to take what I have and move it somewhere were I can keep it and add more song? Thanks!

I don't have an iPod or iTunes. But it sounds like since your brother added the files using his iTunes, you will have to sync your iPod with your iTunes install so that it knows what has been put on the iPod. How to do this  .

the program you want is called ipodrip. it's available for both windows and mac. It will allow you to copy the stuff from the ipod to your computer. check out http://www.ipodrip.com

Once that's done, you can add the music to your iTunes. after that you can allow the ipod to sync with your itunes. Yes, it will delete the stuff off your ipod, but then it will put it right back on from your itunes install.

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions. I'll be around off and on this weekend.

Go here.

I can't stand iPod's because of this. An mp3 player should just be a hard disk with a player that can hook up to your computer and act like a removable hard drive. You shouldn't have to use iTunes or any of that BS. It should just be an act of copying and pasting.

i dont have an apple how do I download?

Hmm...guess that company stopped making a windows version. You can try http://www.xilisoft.com/ipod-rip.html that's a windows equivalent. Also, I'm assuming you've already got iTunes installed and are having this issue within iTunes...

How much music we talking about? If it is not a lot, just have your brother burn a couple audio CD's with them and rip them back onto your computer. Then add them to your iTunes. I little more time consuming, but works.

it was about 125 songs. The problem is I wont see him again until xmas. I got that last link working and was able to move the songs.
