Putco Led Third Brake Light

I have been shopping around to find something that will match my LED taillights in terms of stock looks. I ran across the Putco Pure LED Lighting (link below) and I wanted to know if somebody would be willing to chime in here and give a few pointers...

 

I would want to 'smoke' this brake light lens the color red instead of black. I believe it can be done, but I do not know for sure. What paint would I need to match the color of the OEM red tail light lens? I also believe that I would utilize the same procedure as Dan used when he smoked his tails and when Stephen smoked his tails. I am looking for something closer to Dan's 'tint' level, but I want it to be red...help me out here.

putco makes a black chrome type of 3rd brake light instead of the link you posted which is completely clear.. i put one on a 06 so i KNOW they make them...

No, I want to get the clear one and remove the lens and paint part of it to make it look like the stock one, I want to paint it red (paint the lens red where the Red LEDs light up and leave the cargo lamps clear)

Thanks Riggs, Dan actually sent a PM to me regarding which paint I should use. He even redirected me to Fullsize Chevy...when I do this, I will repost here the exact procedure, perhaps it will be of some benefit to someone in the future.
