Help With Plug Gap

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

I'm new here with my first gm pickup. I just got a 02 sierra 1500 with 120k miles and love it. I"m doing a slight tune up on it with a new fuel filter and plugs.

The plugs i got are ac delco 41-985s. My receipt says they are gapped to .040 and i should not deviate. The sticker in my engine bay says to gap to .060 though.

Should i leave them at .040 ? Are they a new type of plug that require a tighter gap?

TIA!

Leave them at .040". The 41-985 plugs are iridium, and I believe the plugs originally in the truck were platinum (which require the .060" gap).
