Just Got Hid's Installed

I bought an HID conversion kit for my 08 LT about a week ago. Finally got some time tonight to throw them in and am very happy!

Got the kit from vvme.com and would definitely recommend. Quality kit, arrived 4 days after ordering, not to mention I only spent about $70!

Install was a breeze, did have to take off the grill to install the passenger side bulb, but no sweat. Overall took about 1.5 hours.

I also threw some neon in the grill, I like it,

Let me know what do you guys think.

Here's some pics...

look good, but i think you may have to do a little aligning. looks like it will blind oncoming traffic.

I think thats just how it came out on the camera. When actually standing in front of the lights they dont look nearly as explosive haha..

The HIDs look good. If you say the angle is right, I believe you. Just keep a watchful eye on oncoming traffic and see if you're getting flashed a lot.

I'm not a huge fan of the neon but if you're going to keep it, consider rotating them so they're horizontal and behind the middle cross bar. I know around here it's illegal to have any part of a neon bulb visible. By rotating it you'd have a better glow coming out of the grill and would make it (more) legal.

Looks good man!

You should turn the neons sideways so that all you see is the glow from the light, not the bulb.

I have two 15in red ones mounted inside my grill under the flat plastic piece that connects from the grill to the core support, all you see is the red glow, ill get some pics when she gets out of the shop Tuesday.

i wanted to put something like neon behind the grille.. but then i thought that it was a waste of time for something that would probably only last a few months...

and i seen on a different site you tied it into your headlights? you would get pulled over in a heartbeat around here...

i like the HID's though!!

Yeah, cops where i live are dumb so i don't ever worry about stuff like that. I bought the cheap $20 ones from autozone and sealed the ends where the tube met the caps and also sealed the on/off button in the on position, then just ran it all through a switch in the cab and to the battery, easy on/off. I have had them on there for probably close to two years and i only have problems with one every now and then.

Got my truck back today and got the pics of the neons in my grill, quality sucks cause they're from my phone but i think you get the idea.

Like i said, i have the neons mounted in the top of the grill, facing downwards and kinda towards the radiator so there is more glow on everything.

Looks really sick man! I like the red.

I had tried mounting them to the support on the grill, as well as more towards the top and I really didn't get the look I wanted. You could really see all the metal and supports up front.. not really a pretty sight.

The only luck I had was putting them below, but then they really were not bright enough to notice..

O well.. gonna keep em up for a little bit and hope for the best haha.

I picked up my neons from Autozone for cheap (like $18 a piece). And as for their durability I ran one in the grill of my old truck for like 2 years and never had an issue. Just wrapped the shell w/ some electric tape and secured it.

I actually just picked up a switch tonight so I can wire them into the cab, giving me the ability to turn them on and off when I want to (when I see a cop!)

Their really startin to grow on me...

The HIDs look good, neon isn't something I'd do but that's just me. If you like it, that's what matters. :sigh:
