Evap Soleniod?

sup guys, ive got an 06 silverado, and the check engine light came on so i got it checked out and they said my EVAP solenoid was the problem, can someone tell me if this is really a big deal and i need to get it fixed asap or what, moneys kinda tight at the moment so i want to hold off on it if possible

Just a heads up I have heard that a malfunctioning evap system will harm fuel economy.

My dad just replaced the one on my old 05 silvy he bought from me. I think the part was around $100 and took 10 minutes to change.
