Jegs Gift Certificate

Recommended Posts

I have a Jegs gift certificate to spend and I don't really want to spend anymore than I have on the certificate. So I want your opinions. If you were to have to choose between the Airaid intake tube or just buying a high flow filter, which would you buy?

Filter or Tube?

AND

Any brand preferences for filters...K&N, AEM, or Airaid

Thanks guys!

I would get a filter. The stock tube flows alright and I don't want to spend 100 dollars on a plastic tube. Get a dry filter so you never have to oil it. I got a aFe dry flow for mine.

Looks like I'm in the minority here... I'd get the tube with the gift card. Upgrade the filter later, as a part of "maintenance." But, upgrade as a "gift" to yourself, to get rid of some of the baffles in the stock intake tube and get a little more sound out of the intake... :hitit:

I would have to agree here. You won't see much improvement from either, but the tube sounds cool. :D

I have the MIT and a K&N drop-in. It's much cheaper than a full CAI and it sounds great. I think I have $150 in all of it.

That said, tube first.

I like the K&N filters but I don't like the sound of an open air filter. I want all of the sound to come from the exhaust...

Thanks for all the replies! I decided to go with just a drop in filter for now because I really wanted it now (that's just how I am) and they told me the intake tube would not probably get to me until after Christmas.

So I ordered the filter and a DeeZee Easy drop tailgate kit (Thanks Michael!). I think the kit is going to come in handy with a baby and getting stuff in and out of the back. I hate it when the tailgate just drops.

Thanks again guys!!!
