Message Center "security" Light....help Please

Hello again.I have another question regarding my "new" 2002 gmc sierra. When i bought this truck it had 1 key that says GMC on it and a aftermarket key. I have no remote door lock either.I am thinking of getting a remote start with door opener ,just weighing my options at the moment but thats not important.My question is when i open the door my message center always displays "security" .It starts an runs fine.I didnt get A manual with my truck but i bought a haynes manual for repairs sake. I was just curious if its normal for "security" to flash or not. If not i suspect it has soemthing to do with a key or the remote?Thanks for the help all .

It has been a while but I remember my 01 Silverado would flash security on the display when I got in (before the key was even inserted) and there was never an issue. I don't remember the exact timing of the security message but it was normal for that truck the whole time I had it. I installed aftermarket keyless entry in that truck and it worked great.

A flashing "security" is normal. If concerned about the keys, there are no chips in them. If you have power door locks, you likely already have keyless entry available. I bought some off ebay, programmed them, and they work good!
