07 Silverado Oe Factory Nav Upgrade Issues

Bought a 15940102 off ebay installed it ('07 NBS truck is non-bose) so don't have the amp or PAC OEM-1 hooked inline yet. But can hear the chimes very faintly. Anyhow took it to the dealer and having problems re-programming the radio to my vin. Something along the lines of tech2 is failing at step one. Anyone with any info or suggestions to get the radio reprogrammed to get rid of the "theft lock"?

Alright moving forward. Dealer #2 was able to reprogram the radio to my VIN (removed theftlock) Since then I've had that done I've noticed a few things:

 

A) The radio plays at a soft volume, yet the volume control doesn't seem to do anything. (I dont have my amp installed yet)

 

B) The GPS antenna doesn't seem to be as strong as I get the GPS with slash through it more than not. Could it be a defective GPS antenna?

 

C) I don't seem to have voice directions (even though the VSS and Onstar voice harness is installed)

 

D) Last I'm going to use a PAC AOEM-GM1416 to feed the OE radio to the aftermarket amp, wondering if I can splice the PAC AOEM-GM1416 harness and feed the AMP speaker outlets back into it, so I don't have to run new speaker wires?

Yes, you can use the factory speaker harness to get the sound out to your speakers. You will almost certainly need to cut & splice into the factory harness behind the head unit however.

 

Let me know if you get answers to the other questions. I sold my 2005 Extended Cab & just bought a 2007 Crew Cab & would like to put the Nav into it. (non-bose)
