Gm Factory Autostart

I have the factory autostart in my 2007 Silverado. It does work good, although the range is nothing compared to the after-market unit I had in my '02 (the range exceeded 2000ft).

Anyways, I've noticed that if I have the 4-way flahers going, the truck will not auto-start.

Anyone notice the same behaviour ?

Haven't noticed this, but I do know that if the hood is up it won't start remotely.

Haven't tried that myself with the 4 ways on. I know the distance I can remote start is pretty good. I can start the truck from my office on the 5th floor and my truck is at the other end of the parking lot.

If you use the remote start to start the truck and then want to turn the engine off, you can do so by turning on the 4-ways and then turning them off. This may have something to do with your question.

If you use the remote start to start the truck and then want to turn the engine off, you can do so by turning on the 4-ways and then turning them off. This may have something to do with your question.

 

Do what? Why would you do that when all you have to do is hit the start button on the remote to turn it off. Maybe your truck does not like being doubled park

I have no real reason to turn on the 4-way flashers and then auto-start the truck.

It's just something I noticed the other day when I had my truck parked outside the entrance at work, turned on the 4-way flashers as I was bringing some stuff into work.

Figured since it was -24c outside, that keeping the truck running would be ok.

Couldn't autostart with with the 4-ways going.

I have no idea why you'd want to do that, I just know that you can - I didn't design the friggin thing...LOL
