I'm looking to swap out my factory bulbs for my headlights/fog lights with a brighter white or blue aftermarket. So far I've looked into the SilverStar Ultras, Phillips and Wagner. The problem I'm running into is that I can only find the High beam (9005) and nobody makes a Low beam (H11) or a Fog Light (5202). I want all the lights to be the same style/color. Is there any other options or brands that I should be looking at?

This is the closest I was able to come up with for Low Beams and Fogs, Did not replace High Beams They do not match perfectly but are real close.

Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction........now I just need to decide if I want to go with a White bulb, or Blue. I'm kind of leaning towards the Putco, just because the make all the types of bulbs, but then again PIAA makes a good product too.

Does anyone have experience with the PUTCO 360 LED lights? I'm considering some for my turn signals and tails but I dont want my truck to think that the bulbs are burned out because they are aftermarket LEDs. I hate when the turn signals blink too fast because they think bulbs are burned out.

Would these bulbs be a big improvement over the weak factory bulbs? I'm considering adding some cheap driving lights under the rear bumper and connecting them to the trailer back-up light wire.

 

I did this on my old 99 and it was a big improvement especially on rainy dark nights or mornings. Most of the cheap ($15 to $25) light sets you can find at Wal-Mart or the various chain auto parts stores have decent beam patterns for this type of use and they have 55W halogen lights. By connecting to the trailer wiring harness, you don't have to dig into the harness for the factory lamp assemblies.

I believe that you have to throw a resistor on them as well (unless the resistor is inside the base). My tails needed a resistor to flash properly. (before I changed them out entirely)

i have had the putco 360 LED lights for my turn signals, easy installation and they were brighter than the stock bulbs (plus looked nice too) however i don't have any pictures of them since i rearended someone and the lights were damaged. I have currently installed the putco led lights (blue) for my DRL, and i have Mtec 5800k blubs (blue in colour) for my lows and fogs. Mtec makes highs, and lows, and fogs for every gm model from atleast 2000. I picked them up here for about $65 a set. hope this helped.

 

P.s when it comes to blue or white colours for the bulbs, i had whites in and didn't like them, because its not the same white you'd get if you were driving with an actual HID kit installed, so i chose blue. Here's a couple pics.

 

The one picture is just the light of my low beams shinning on the ground next to mrdmax's truck. Notice the colour difference between the Mtec xenon bulbs and his stock bulbs. Then theres a pic of lows and fogs on and then the blue DRL's

I'm surprised nobody mentioned HID's. I would just get a set of those for your lows and fogs. You can pick up a set for nearly the same price as aftermarket bulbs on eBay and the improvement will be miles greater.

however putting in an HID kit will void your warranty for your truck( the headlight warranty). Just something to think about since this will be getting done on a nnbs

      2026 6.6 L5P oil cooler leaking oil at 4,000 miles

      New to diesel trucks. I happened to find my oil cooler leaking oil externally with only 4,000 miles on the truck. I didn’t realize this was an issue until I started researching it. Dealer is going to replace it under warranty but I’m wondering if there’s anything GM is working on to fix this issue. I’ve heard the oil filter used is the same as they use on their V6 motors and that’s what is causing the problems. Should I switch to a bigger filter or keep using the OEM recommended?

      Seems to be Missing a lot of Updates

      So, GMCustomerService:  Judging by the Update History pictured above, is this truck missing any updates that it actually needs. If it's just for the infotainment system, the radio is working fine and no trouble with SeriusXM. and Android Auto is working fine wirelessly with my phone. Some months ago, an update notice was sent to my truck. I approved the update and it finished saying that the update was successful, but it seems that whatever that update was, it didn't actually get installed - at least not if I'm to go by the Update History shown above.   So, again, are there any updates that this truck really should have? I've checked with my dealer but they're reluctant or commit to anything and if I want them to check, they require a $200.00 fee just to check it out and then I'd have to pay for the actual update(s).    Ignorance is bliss, and if none of the updates goes to fixing any mechanical discrepancies, I'll just leave things as is.

      Hey everyone, I recently had an issue with my 07 2500HD GMT900. My DRL’s stay on at all times. Right front turn and right mirror turn signal indicator stay on solid at all times. By “at all times” I mean the only way to make them go off is disconnecting the battery. I tore the headlight assemblies out, tried disconnecting the harnesses to eliminate bad wiring at the harness, I unplugged the headlight switch, no change and the mirror turn signal still stayed on. My first thoughts were : Bad bulb and/or socket somewhere, under hood fuse panel bad, bcm bad, tail light or trailer wiring problem, or some random short to power in the harness.  Possibly a bad ground but unlikely. I had a big clue in the fuse panel, it had a burnt smell. I started pulling every fuse that had to do with DRL or right turn/park lamp. Nothing made the right directional turn off but pulling the DRL2 fuse made the DRL’s go out.  After studying wiring diagrams, I found that both problems had that fuse panel in common, the bcm also controls both problems but knowing the fuse panel had a burnt smell I removed and disassembled the fuse panel and found a little corrosion on the printed circuit board.  I ordered a new fuse panel from Amazon for like $260. When it arrived I installed it, and put everything back together, the problem was fixed. I figured the fuse panel needed to be replaced anyway so that was a logical place to start. Hopefully this story helps someone in the future. Regretfully I didn’t scan for codes before I did everything.

      That stinks. I’m sitting on the side of the road right now with the same issue. Never had an issue before taking it in for the ground strap recall. Now I’m outside of warranty and they’ll probably want $200 just to diagnose what they already “fixed”.
