Courtesy Lamp Fuse Blows!

so i am trying to source down a problem right now in my 2001 gmc yukon slt. the courtesy lamp fuse keeps blowing. as in the second i put in a fuse it blows. i checked out the prongs, and one side has power, the other side (that goes in the vehicle) has ground. so i know the reason the fuse is blowing is because the ground and the power are touching blowing the fuse, but i dont know where the ground is coming from. are there any well known electrical problems where the insulation could have peeled back grounding the wire? where should i be looking? please help!!!
