Which Scan Tool To Get?

My Check engine light just came on my 2001 Tahoe. Every time I have a vehicle this happens to I wish I had a scan tool of my own. Now I am considering getting one.

Is this one sufficient for my needs (check and clear codes) or do I need something a little better (trying to keep it under $100):

Welcome aboard  I would assume that the cheaper hand helds would be sufficient enough for your need's. You can spend over 4k for some of the scanners out there.
