Mainly for the people who live in the areas where rosk salt is used. I never allow the rock salt to stay on my truck for long. I'll hose it off under the chasis real well. There are somw areas where rock salt can get into where you cannot see it. On my truck it is the front bumper area under the plastic trim. If you aim the water so that it gets under the plastic trim in front of the front tires, you'll see a bunch of nasty rock salt come out. The rear bumper will collect some as well behind it, so I reach inside the wheel well and shoot the bumper from the back, and also spare tire. For those of you who use a tail gate spreader, I use a blue tarp that I drape over the tailgait when salting. I'll stretch it all the way down past bumper, so salt doesn't have a chance to hit tailgait or accumulate on bumper. Then when finished, just shake off any salt that gets on tarp and roll it back into the bed. I have a Pro Net attatched between behind tail gait so I place tarp in between that area so it won't blow out driving highway speeds. You could also use cinder blocks or anything heavy to weight it down.
