Brush Guard Bracketry

Hey everybody,

 

I need a hand. I have a Westin Sportsman brush guard for my 2002 Silverado (1500) but don't have the bracketry for it. I contacted my local Napa who quoted me a price of $120.00 for it. Anybody know of a cheaper place to get a set of brackets? If not that, can someone send me a picture of the brackets (either on or off the truck) so that I can fab something up. Thanks to all.

When I bought my Westin bull bar from a guy off craigslist it came with the brackets of 1500 HD. Well mine wasnt an HD. I called Westin to see what I could do and their only suggesttion was NAPA. They gave me the part number and I purchased it online. It was about the same price including shipping. Hate to say but its going to be pretty difficult finding a better price. The brackets seem to be made of some pretty hard core steel at the mounting point of the frame. The bolts seem like some grade 8 type coated which is some hard core stuff. ITs the same grade as your tow hooks. Then the bolts for the second mounting position are just standard and can be picked up from anywhere. Honestly, I know it sucks. Your best bet is to shell out the 120 bucks. Nothing is better than peace of mind!

 

Matter of fact I left a post on this forum a while back about the same thing. I wouldnt expect a response or anything.

On my buddies '93 Silverado, we took some angle iron and welded up some mounting brackets and then welded those to the guard and the frame. That was the sturdiest brush guard I've ever seen.

i can get you a pic... i just pulled mine off for the winter but i left the brackets on, they should be pretty easy to fab up if you have the time and the tools... i'm gonna be beefing mine up this summer...

hope these help i know their not the greatest i appologize if you want i can pull 2 off and get some up close pics as well as some dimensions... sorry i lost the 2500 hd brackets they came with but i'll pull them and take some pics for you!

no problem man i'm at the firehouse tomorrow night and i plan on puttin the grill guard back on my truck but i'll pull the mounts and take some pics if i get the chance
