Recent problems I have with Onstar noted that the red light indicated a problem with your Onstar system. Ours was the Onstar backup battery on an 07 Impala. We have had temperature stayin in the -20' for the last few weeks so batteries have been dieing all over. The local GM service station has been having a surge in Onstar related problems. That red light indicates something is wrong, but unless you pay for the subscription you have to take it in to the dealer to find out.

so.........since i do not subscribe to onstar i will not worry about it. i was just hoping that it wasn't indicating something else wrong with the vehicle! these cold temps mess with everything....

Good looking bike Joe. Love the headlamp treatment. Bet it doesn't get much use in subzero temps!

Yeah thats Onstars light so to speak. If there was a problem with any major systems in the vehicle there would be a separate indication on the dash. If I had to bet, its your backup battery. The only use for it is if you were in an accident that disabled the main vehicle battery you would still be able to make an emergency call. But yeah, since you do not subscribe to Onstar, I would just ignore it.
