Dear GM tech, is it possible to install this guage without a lot of hassle? The spot on the cluster is there. I have a 2006 LT3 Z71 Ext Cab fully loaded. Let me know.

You can add the gauge but it is not that easy.

There are two options that are pretty painless. Aeroforce

You can buy a complete cluster from a 2500 that will have the trans temp gauge or there are companies that sell these clusters with the gauge read to plug and play. The temp sensor is already in place in the trans.

The option I took was to add an aftermarket Electronic scan gauge which reads approx 28 functions from the ECM including trans temp. The Interceptor Scan Gauge by Aeroforce is the route I took. It simply plugs into your OBD II Port and is ready to go and can read 2 functions at a time. Here is their link

. I have also attached a picture of mine installed on the "A" Pillar.

There is also a company that produces a similar gauge that is rectangular in shape that will read 4 funtions at once.
