adz Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Im not sure as to whether all models in the US have this or if this is only on mine due to it being an import. (im from the UK) My silverado has a limiter on it, the speedo only goes up to 100mph and once you hit that it wont let you go passed it, im wanting to start to modify the engine for a quicker quarter mile time but im nearly hitting the 100mph on the clock already and once it gets tuned hope to go passed it so i need to get this removed. Has anyone of experienced this before and any idea how to remove this? thanks
VMax2007 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 If there are no local custom tuners over there, then get a Diablosport handheld tuner.
ALange Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 . My 02 and 04 cut out around 98-100 mph. I think the computer controls that. And yes, I found out by trying to go faster.
66nova Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I think all/most of the tuners custom or not you can remove/increase the speed-limiter. I agree with Vmax if you cannot get a custom tune I also recommend the Diablo Tuner. It's the hand held I would have gone with if I didn't have my Blackbear tune. Welcome, Good luck and we want some pics
adz Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 most places over here say they haven't got the software for american vehicles which is a pain. i will have to hunt around some more otherwise ill get one of those hand held tuners. what do they retail at? and what are the gains? also where do i post pics up, in what section thanks

I don't know if Justin (Blackbear performance) will ship a datalog cable to you, but it would definitely be worth you time to email him and ask. This would give you the best bang for your money. www.blackbearperformance.com If that doesn't work out then go here... Diablo Sport As for pictures. Get a photobucket account. It's free. www.photobucket.com Upload your photos there, then go to the "My Controls" link at the top you your screen and then use the "Edit your signature" link
MarkD Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 The car companys claim the speed limit vehicles according to the speed rating of the factory tires. Most any programmer/custom program will remove it.
