General Lee 01 Posted October 22, 2001 Posted October 22, 2001 About 2 hours ago, we heard a loud explosion @ my house. It shook my house so hard, I'm sure there's a measurement on the rictor-scale about 2 miles due south of my house coordinates. For a couple of minutes, I seriously thought we were under-attack. It felt like a bomb. Well, we heard on the News, A gas-line blew up and levelled a house 2-4 miles south of me. As of right now, they're searching through the house for Casualties. As bad as it felt 2-4 miles away, I can't imagine what it felt like within blocks of the explosion.
Kansas Kid Posted October 22, 2001 Posted October 22, 2001 Yeah, that is alittle too close for comfort. It would have scared the piss out of me too.
alsz71 Posted October 22, 2001 Posted October 22, 2001 As you found out NG explosions are incredibly powerful, glad your ok , hopefully none was home when the explosion happened.
RyanbabZ71 Posted October 22, 2001 Author Posted October 22, 2001 few yrs back a house blew up due to natural gas like a block away. Debris was found a mile away. Luckily no one was home. There was nothing left of the house
MadFish Posted October 22, 2001 Posted October 22, 2001 Yep, that will do it. Hopefully no one was home when it went off.
Kansas Kid Posted October 22, 2001 Posted October 22, 2001 And if you think just one natural gas explosion was bad, you should have seen the town of Hutchinson, Ks awhile back. They delt with gas leaks, fires and explosions for well over a month. Now that would suck.
MadFish Posted October 22, 2001 Posted October 22, 2001 Kansas, I remember that. Those took out a good chunk of the older part of Hutchinson, right?
pacodiablo Posted October 22, 2001 Posted October 22, 2001 im glad ur ok. NG leakes are very dangerous.

Yeah, it screwed that town up pretty bad. I'm not sure exactly what part of town caught the majority of it, but I kind of remember it being in the older part of town. I just tried to stay as far away from the town as possible while all that stuff was going on.
