Gmt900 Center Console

I just picked up this console on ebay to replace the totally useless open-top console presently in my truck. Problem is, it's light gray in color, and my truck interior is ebony (black). What I want to know is, what would be the best/easiest/cheapest way to change its color while maintaining its quality. I'm thinking I will just take it to an upholstery shop and have it reupholstered. But I have heard of some people dyeing fabrics. Any input would be greatly appreciated. The reason I bought the wrong color is because the price was way to good to pass up.

I'd flip it. Sell it on eBay and try to make enough to buy a black one. The new upholstery would work for the fabric and vinyl areas but the plastic will never look right. If you have it painted, it'll flake and crack and chip eventually.

Pic of the console in your truck. Mine looks like the one you have in the pic just ebony. I may be interested into switching to a console in my truck.

Isn't that one in the Ebay listing from the GMT800 trucks. . . mine is exactly like the original one posted- two cup holders exposed and a latching compartment.

Nope. This is what the GMT800 jumpseat looks like (05-06).
