Intake Manifold Removal ... Help

I am in the process of replacing my leaky intake manifold gasket on my 1988 K1500. (350 obviously). I have removed almost all of the engine harness plugs and everything from the throttle body to get them out of the way. Everything but the four colored wires leading to the injectors. Is there anyway of removing these wires? I don't want to cut them and resplice them as there must be a proper way of doing so. Thanks.

Don't cut those wires..not necessary.Remove that spacer ring that the air cleaner sits on and you'll get a better view of what you have. There are plastic tabs on each electrical connector which you squeeze, then wiggle the plastic assembly straight up.You will be removing the connector and not the injector itself. Then pull the little rubber grommet from the housing and the wires will be free to move out of the way. Also,be carefull when squeezing those plastic tabs 'cause I've hears they break easily.I was able to get mine off using patience nad watching what's going on.Incidently I removed my intake to install a new cam in my 7.4L back in July...You must be sure you have the rotor pointing to the #1 plug wire on the the compression stroke(pointing towards 5 O'clock when looking down at the dist. from directly above) so when you ri-install the dist. it will be pointing to the #1 plug.DO NOT turn the crankshaft while the dist. is removed.

Go to an auto parts store and pick up a manual, you're gonna need it...all this info is there....good luck

i got it out thanks, and i bought a haynes manual, not as helpful as i'd hoped it would be. IT got a coolant bath as well after removing the manifold...oh well, it dried out. Just gotta get everything back together correctly and pray this solved my coolant problem
