Chicago Boat, Rv, And Outdoors Show

Did anyone else attend this year? I was extremely disappointed this year. I should have known when I showed up 10 minutes before it opened and was the 4th car in the lot. I felt like Clark Griswold in Vacation (I parked close lol). I can't remember a year in the past when it was this bad. Normally, this show is 2 entire floors of McCormick Place (absolutely enormous building). Boats and marine stuff up top, and RV's and camping themed things on the lower floor. This year they had about 5 bass boats, a grand total of about 3 RV's and almost no camping things. I have to assume the economy was the biggest cause, because it is extremely expensive to set up a booth at this show. There was mainly huge yachts, and a few wake boats. However, they did have the championship winning Miss Geico powerboat and crew. These are some real fast pictures I took with my phone of some stuff that was kinda cool, so the quality is less than perfect.

900 HP on a sport fishing boat. Most powerful outboard set-up at the show.

 

Combined power of about 1400 HP. This made me mad that I didn't bring my camera, because this boat was SWEET.

I was planning on taking a Friday trip (opening day) to the autoshow in Chicago but after reading of a few mfgs pulling out and I figure it will be a much smaller show I decided not to. Also right now I cant get into buying or looking at a new auto. Maybe next yr???

Yea, the Chicago Auto Show has always been one of the best. I had a feeling this year would be disappointing. Oh well. Life goes on I guess.
