Pcv Replaceable In 2004 & Up Trucks?

Can anyone confirm if the PCV is replaceable in a 2004 Avalanche 5.3L. I know it's not in the 8.1L engines and my 05 Denali 6.0L. The book at Autozone showed that it was not replaceable, but some online parts sites show a part # for a 2004 PCV.

There was a thread going on the Avalanche Fan Club forum about this subject. From what I have researched, GM used a fixed PCV in 2004 and up trucks. Is this right?

Similar to the removal of the trans and rear axle drain plugs and the fuel filter being put in the tank.

I can say that on the 05 5.3L engine the PCV is NOT replacable.

Have a nice day.

Some where around 2002 2003 they went to a fixed orifice PVC. It is not replaceable and works much better than the old type. It doesn't let near the amount of oil back into your intake as the old PVC did. There was a TSB on this. This solved a lot of the throttle body problem of gumming up with oil.

Have a good one,

Thanks for the info guys. I'm pretty sure that mine is fixed. I changed the PCV on my 2000 Yukon 5.3L years ago, and this one in my 2004 AV looks much different. I'm not going to mess with it, but I was just curious if GM made this change in a certain model year?
