Wheel And Tire Fitment

Recommended Posts

Alright I know there is already a ton of stuff on this but I haven't found my answer yet. 1. I have an 04 Z71 and am about to buy new tires and wheels and I am unsure what will fit at stock height or with the keys cranked a lil more. The wheels in question are 18x9 moto metal 951's generic I know but i like them they have -12mm offset with i believe 4.65 backspacing and I want to put 285/65R18 size tires and am unsure if this will fit? 2. Will cranking the factory keys put parts in a bind or cause unusual wear or alignment problems? I know a lot here but help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Yes, cranking the t-bars will cause wear, but if you keep it within reason (1.5"), you shouldn't have a problem. As far as that wheel tire combo, it should work with the t-bars cranked.

If you don't crank over 1.5", you should be perfectly fine as long as you get it aligned right away (to avoid any tire wear issues). And 'leveling kits' do the exact same thing to the front suspension as cranking the stock keys, so there's no advantage there.

They should fit just fine. I have 285/60 Nittos and they fit with no cranking, but they are shorter than 285/65's.

Now i cranked my stock keys level and of coarse have no problem fitting them.
