Onstar Renewal

I have a 2008 GMC HD and ONSTAR subscription expires 2/17/2009. I called the normal ONSTAR renewal number and told them I wanted the internet special for my GM Truck Forum. She gave me an annual renewal for $148.92, extra free 100 phone minutes and rolled over my existing 96 minutes.

The first rep sent me to the 'Specials' department, she made the transfer. The second

Specials rep never questioned the deal and provided me with exactly what I asked for

with no further questions. She actually found me an account credit of $3.16 so my card only got charged for $145.76. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA

So I take it you took a chance and pulled this out of your rear end or is there such an online discount?

Please provide the link

Thanks

Many of the forums under Onstar Renewal indicate a Forum, Internet special price. When one calls the first Onstar Renewal Rep, you say you want the Forum, Internet special and they transfer you to a second Rep. The second Rep can do the deal with no questions. The price in the Forums is $148.92, 100 free minutes, and roll over any existing minutes.

The above deal has little to do with pulling anything out of one's rectal orifice. Try it when ready.

I called to cx mine and was offered the same deal. I think with the economy they are trying to hang on to as many customers as possible. With folks cutting back this is the type of thing that goes first. It worked, I stayed on at the reduced rate.

No hassle, they gave me the same deal.

To get the best deal, follow the menu prompts for cancellation of your service. Tell them you can't afford it anymore. You'll get the best offer.

Come on let the cat out of the bag......how much is the "I'm to poor discount?"

I think the $148.xx yr or $12.xx mo is the best deal. That's what they offered me anyway.

GM should really consider providing Onstar for free to current and future car owners. Charging for Onstar, at least in the case of emergencies, is bordering on unethical. If you put the technology in the car and force consumers to pay for it up front (onstar is no longer an option) they should get the features associated with it.

I refuse to pay money for something like that. On the other hand, I do support XM because I chose to add the feature to my truck. I was not given a choice about onstar.

I just phoned today & got the Canadian deal $219/year($19.95/month) & 100 free minutes. I had to mention the Internet forum special AND the 100 free minutes.

Cheers Primo.

I don't know about you, but I got a free year with Onstar, and will renew it when its up, plus from my understanding, it still works in emergency cases, even if you don't pay for it, you just cant use the phone, or use it to unlock your doors. I bought the XM package with the best of sirius for $499 lifetime package. I love sat radio, except the fact that the comedy channels play the same shiz over and over. People are tired of hearing me tell the same jokes now!
