Where To Buy A Fabtech?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have been posting about buying the fabtech lift, I was waiting on a confirmation from a local shop, he doesnt have a dealer for fabtech, so the question now is where to order it?

Of course best price around is always a good selling point, but there are other reasons to buy from a place so if you guys got anywhere in particular you like please let me know.

Ohhhhhhhhhh k the entire time that I looked into the fabtech I missed one GLARING problem with the whole thing. I dont have a crew cab, I have an extended cab. Everywhere I looks says the fabtech is for crew cab only?!? This blows I think it may be back to the drawing board. I was about to place the order too I would have been pissed if I got it and it didnt work!

Thanks, I'm going to get ahold of Robert and see what he can do. I dealt with fourwheelparts.com before with the buy 3 pro comps get 1 free deal. I rushed to scrape together the cash just to get them in the nick of time (I found out about the sale with like 2 days left on it) and I got it together, got my tires, then as soon as the sale ended, the price of the tires dropped and the price was about the same for 4 as I paid for 3!!! I was pissed emailed them and they did send me a new reciept so that I could use the a new manufacturer rebate, so I actually ended up with a real deal.

I thought they were trying to pull one over on consumers but they did work with me and explained what was going on and actually reissued me a post dated receipt in order to get the both deals combined so I cant say anything bad about them myself.

I have no experience with truckaddons.com besides the good referrals from you guys so I will give them a try!

I decided that I am not going to do this install...Couple years ago when I was building hondas I had no problem taking days on end to pull a motor or put on a suspension, but I feel like im at the point now where I would rather pay someone else to do it, I already go my hands gettiing my kx450 ready for this season... Reason I'm making a short story long.. What is a reasonable price to pay for install. A guy with a fab shop here quoted me $400-$500 (he looked at the directions on the Zone kit website (not fabtechs!) that quoted 8 hours for install time and thats where the 4-500 range came in.. Does that sound right for an install? It will be another $60 for alignment.

ohhh.. and on that red silvy posted does that have any other suspension or body lifts going on besides the 6" fabtech? Its pretty much exactly what height I would be going for with my truck..

I got that buy 3 get one free deal. I never thought to look back to see if anything was inflated...damnit. I have ordered two sets of wheels/tires from them now. Never again. I always pay to have them mounted and balanced, then when they arrive, they are WAY out of balance. I had to pay for both sets to be re-balanced. I called them and they told me to fax the receipts from the balancing in. BOTH times, they never did anything. Sounds like they were good to you though, so who knows.

Anyway, 400-500 is a GREAT install price. I was quoted anywhere from 750-1100 when I was looking. After that, I said screw that and installed it myself. Took a week off of work and got to it.

That read Silverado has a Fabtech lift, CCM 2.5" spacers, and 10" leaf springs with 37's.

wow for 750 to 1100 I would be DIY too. Damn didnt look like that red truck had 37s thought they were just 35s!! I wouldnt want to go 37's with the 1500 I dont think I never really had the intention to go that big oh well thats a shame, I'll never have that look just a mini me version...

Isn't there like a 27 page thread somewhere around here warning against using truckaddons?

As for 4 Wheel Parts...I'm pretty sure that's a location by location thing. I've been in some where if you weren't dropping 12 grand on Jeep parts, they wouldn't talk to you...But the one by my house, they bent over backwards to track down and order me a $12 center cap, and everybody I know that's been in there for work has sung their praises.

Damn....never saw that. Had I, I probably would of ordered elsewhere. I called and talked to about 3-4 people before getting a hold of Robert. They were all nice and helpful. The lift was at my house within 4-5 days so I had a good experience with them.

    • Point of the post sir was that while both wages and cost are rising EVERYWHERE; the cost is rising faster EVERYWHERE than the ability to buy EVERYWHERE. We're not going down the location rabbit hole. I'm aware of what economic migration is. I've lived in four states including Texas.   It's what "Purchasing Power" means.   I'm not telling you what I think. I'm telling what the government, your government, data shows.   It wasn't an argument. It wasn't a suggestion. It was a statement of FACT. You are absolutely entitled to your own opinion. Your not entitled to your own facts. If you and I were, they wouldn't be facts.    fact /făkt/   noun Knowledge or information based on real occurrences. "an account based on fact; a blur of fact and fancy." Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed. "Genetic engineering is now a fact. That Chaucer was a real person is an undisputed fact." A real occurrence; an event. "had to prove the facts of the case." The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition • More at Wordnik   If you'd like to disagree call your Senator or Representative and let him know his departments are in error. But you and I? We are not doing this.
    • Probably a one and done post, but do you have a CEL on the dash? Was having issues with my transmission, fortunately only a week, and it turned out to be the transmission harness. Valve body was in good shape, so new harness with all the sensors attached, new fluid, and filter. Seems to have worked so far?
    • Two interesting tidbits of information which are NOT related were just released.   One, regarding the possible thrust bearing issues / engine failures with the 3.0. Demonworks just did a segment in which they believe they may have found "a" or "the" cause of thrust bearing failures: A missing thrust bearing. If the engine doesn't have all its thrust bearings from the factory, the missing bearing can cause extra play which ends up destroying a nearby thrust bearing which then sends metal through the engine.       Of other importance, Lake Speed Jr released some interest information regarding oil weight selection for the 3.0. Comparisons of:   AcDelco 0w20 Dexos D Mobil 1 ESP x2 0w20 Dexos D Mobil 1 ESP x2 0w30 Mobil 1 ESP x4 0w40. Mobil Delvac 5w40   Spoiler alert: The Mobils are PAO Ester -base and the ACDelco is a Group III base. Mobil shows lower wear in their tests for similar weights. Additive packages between 20-30-40 weight ESP's appear to be the same, but only 0w20 is Dexos D licensed. Wear is even more reduced with 30 and 40 weight ESP although all perform very well and resist shear and provide very similar viscosities within temperature operating ranges in the 3.0.   There are even more surprises, so just go watch it.
    • Hello Guys I'm new to the form,         I just put a 7-inch Rough Country lift on my 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 and I also put a Borla exhaust on it. But I noticed when I'm in park or in neutral and then I rev my truck up really quick there is a bad click noise and I think it's coming from the motor somewhere. Anyways I got a video of it I will attach below I was just wondering if you guys think its rod knock or lifter tick or something like that because I know the AFM kind of made the lifters weak on these trucks.       Thanks!!!!! • We’ll have to agree to disagree. I didn’t experience or know anyone who had a decent car after 100K miles in the 60s through the 80s that were daily commuter vehicles. Unless they were collector vehicles. Of course things cost more due to inflation. But we also make more money. The biggest money drains these days are things people think they need today versus what we require back in the day. Like cell phones and internet as examples. Another example is where you live. Cost of living varies from state to state. I would need twice the money to live in NJ vs Texas in retirement. The car you recently purchased was less than my first car with inflation at 3000$ in 1973. I didn’t have air, electric windows, cruise etc. Purchasing power is equivalent, you just have to do the research.
