Just have to be careful when plowing with a 1500. I would recommend getting some timbrens for the front to start. As long as you are just doing your driveway and a neighbors you should be fine. If you are plowing more then that and traveling around a great distance using a 1500 then I would be concerned. Fishers also tend to run on the heavy side as compared to other brand plows that are 7.6 size. I would also chnage your tranny fluid annually and keep an eye on the temp if you do not have a tranny cooler.

Blizzards are heavy too! Western owns them as well, they just bought them out last year or something as well as Fisher.

The blade in the link only weighs 465 pounds. Surely a 1500 front end can handle that?? I would not want a blade much lighter than that, or you will not be moving much snow, cuase it would be bent all the time.

Yea 465 is not too heavy for a 1500, I would still recommend timbrens though for any 1/2 ton regardless of plow weight. Todays plows are made much better then the older styles. They hook up easy and fast and plow brands like Western use very good quality paint. I have yet to get any chips in the blade itself.

I had one of these on my 98' k1500 and it worked great, the mounting system was really nice and fast to disconnect and did not leave the light bar on the truck. I went with the 7' blade, cranked the torsion bar up on the front end so it was level with out the blade. If you drive it like a normal adult you will be just fine, drive it like you stole it and you will be replacing things. I plowed parking lots, drive ways and a 5/8 mile race track on a lake for our motorcycles and ATv's.

I have a 760 Blizzard on my Chevy 1500k and have been plowing commercially now for four years with it. Rev353 is right though, if you drive it like and idiot you better just save your money and rebuild every spring. I have not heard of timbrens before so I am pretty sure that I dont have those on my truck. What are those? Thanks!
