Part Number Request

Recommended Posts

First off, is there a way I can look up part numbers myself? This isn't my first part number request.

I can't stand the sight of the dent in my front bumper and I'm looking to replace it. PDR doesn't do chrome for some reason :dunno: .

The dealer quoted me some ridiculous price and I was wondering if a place gmpartsdirect has them for cheaper or to give me some leavrage while dealing with the local parts dept. (it worked last time :seeya: ).

I'm gonna check the junk yards but, if the price is reasonable I would like a new one. I found one on CR but, I hate dealing with people out of state and don't want to get ripped off.

If you're looking for the chrome bumper with the air dam or "coin slot" in it, the part number is 15902856. I got this from MS3DALE (Rich) since I'm looking to change to the air dam bumper from the plain front.

You can look up some parts on gmpartsdirect by following the "Catalog" link...I'll warn you, the selection for GMT900 Sierras is slim compared to the Silverados...at least in their catalog. Rich is usually able to get part numbers...send him a PM.

I looked at gmparts and of course there is no picture. The description says front or rear bumper cover. Are you sure that is it?

I also sent you a PM about your old bumper if you wanted to get rid of it.

If the part number came from Rich, I'd say that's what you're after. He knows his stuff. :seeya:

BTW....The part number for the regular "non-slotted" chrome bumper is 15901505.

Hey Rich,

Does the part # for the slotted bumper include the air baffles (or whatever they are called?) that direct the air into the heat exchangers? The slotted bumper requires these additional parts, it is not as simple as just swapping the bumper skin itself.

You know Jeff...Chris (LawmanSS) ask me about that before,And when I look the bumper up they don't show anything behind it,However when I look at a picture of the radiator mounting and related parts they do show a baffle that would go behind the bumper...Part #15915523.

The funny thing about it is that they list the baffle to be used on "all" trucks, weather it has the slotted bumper or not,So I assumed that all the trucks had this baffle already,I guess they don't...I'm going to have to look up underneath mine and see if it has one.

But to answer your question.....No,That part number I gave for the bumper is just for the bumper itself,No baffles.

When I had mine replaced, the cost of the "slotted" bumper was about $150 more than the non-slotted one. The dealer/body shop told me it was due to the extra baffling that was required with the slotted bumper. I made Yocum Oil fork over the extra $150 even though it was the dealer's fault for ordering the wrong one. I didn't care, as long as I didn't have to pay for it.

So you did have to add that baffle to your truck? (Part#15915523)

If so I want to make sure Chris knows it is needed,I told him he didn't need anything else because I didn't see anything else needed,But that was because they list that baffle to be on "all" trucks,if they have the slotted or non-slotted bumper.

Yep, but keep in mind, this was back in April of 2007. All it is is a sheet of rubber fitted in there to direct the airflow from the slot up into the radiator.

Yep,Thats what it looks like in the catalog, and what it looks like when I looked at the trucks on the lot.

Theres two different part numbers depending on if its a Chevy or a GMC.
