General Lee 01 Posted July 22, 2001 Posted July 22, 2001 That race was a good one. (IMO) probably the best race I've ever seen @ NHIS. Even though Jarrett won. I was hoping my VA boy Rudd would pull it off, but oh well, the next 2 tracks are pretty good for Rudd. Ron Hornaday climbing the wall was a pretty Cool thing to see. Zane should have one story to tell when he gets back. So Kansas Kid, did you break out the pillow during this race? (Edited by General Lee 01 at 5:56 pm on July 22, 2001)
NewbieZ71 Posted July 23, 2001 Posted July 23, 2001 In all my month of watching NASCAR closely, that was the best race I've ever seen!! Didnt catch a glimpse of the GMTC sign though.
Kansas Kid Posted July 23, 2001 Author Posted July 23, 2001 Quote: from General Lee 01So Kansas Kid, did you break out the pillow during this race? Ummm, was the race run at NHIS? Of course I took a nap during this race. It takes alot more then ten laps of good racing at the end to make a good race. Heck, before the final ten or so laps, all that happened was several high speed pace laps interupted by a bunch of cautions. I think that if people found that race great they should hit the local dirt track races. The A-feature of the late model race had more then 10 laps of good racing, and they only ran a 25 lap race. Not to mention the A-feature of the modifieds being decided by less then 3 feet.
Kansas Kid Posted July 25, 2001 Author Posted July 25, 2001 Hey General (and the two other people in the world who like NHIS), please go read this article. As you can see, the drivers also think the track needs major work done for NASCAR racing to be decent there. Good racing still eludes New Hampshire
General Lee 01 Posted July 25, 2001 Posted July 25, 2001 I never said I loved NHIS, I just said (or meant) that THAT was the best NHIS race I've seen. (Not the best RACE period). I DO think that Phoenix is even worse, Atleast Spin-outs happen at NHIS!
Josh Posted July 25, 2001 Posted July 25, 2001 I kinda get the feeling that the people who wrote that article have something against NHIS, 'cause i've only heard good things from the drivers up to that point. Oh well.
Josh Posted July 25, 2001 Posted July 25, 2001 BTW, unfortunatly there was NO GM-TC banner. Maybe next year though. I am thinking one of those banners that fly behind the airplane's!!! They had one from a store about a mile from our house called Diesal Don's fling from an airplane. It said weare, nh right on it. I wonder if it got on tv.
General Lee 01 Posted July 25, 2001 Posted July 25, 2001 I never saw it SiiLT. I looked throuout the Broadcast whe they had the Camera angles looking at the fans (You know, when like, the commercials come on) and I saw no sign of GM-TC presence. LOL NBC doesn't do that stuff as much as the other channells did though.
