Blowing Smoke

i have a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 5.3L. It just hit 160,000 miles. I put new intake manifold gaskets on it last week. After i got it all put back togather it started blowing white n blue smoke bad. Also it smells like gas horribly. I checked the oil n after running it a while the oil was over filled by about 2 quarts. So far the truck has gotten 63 miles on a whole tank of gas... Any ideas on what i could have messed up when i changed my intake gaskets?

Do you mean a head gasket? The intake has nothing to do with coolant or oil.

Anyhoo....The head gasket is probably blown.

*pull the plugs you would be able to tell which side. change the oil and fill to correct amount.

no i do mean the intake gasket... i changed the oil and it smelled like gas. That is what is puzzling me my computer is telling me i have un-metered air from the mass air flow sensor and 3 O2 sensors are reading lean... so i think that there could be a vacuum leak.

Thats a good posibility. Try spaying some TB cleaner around to find the leak.

well ive sprayed some tb and couldnt find a leak... i changed my oil yesterday n its over full again by 1/2 a quart its got some random missfires too... im really stumped on this one

I wouldn't be driving it until I got it fixed.

One of the gaskets probably moved when doing the re-install. if you don't get everything perfect they can slide when you slide the intake back on. You also ened to let any rtv cure before filling back up with coolant and starting.

+1 You are running the risk of spinning a bearing, or worse.

Are you loosing coolant? Are you still getting fuel in the oil?

I just changed intake gaskets on an 03 5.3 a couple of weeks ago.

There is no coolant in your intake. There is no easy way for fuel to get to your oil, unless it is seeping past you rings.

Well i didnt use any rtv wen i replaced the intake gaskets. and the only coolant up top is through the tb. i double checked and all my electrical stuff is hooked up and no vacuum leaks... if fuel is coming through the rings wouldnt the truck loose compression? and something started nocking in the driverside head. it only started acting up wen i changed the intake gaskets so i duno y it would start now

You weren't having any of these problems prior to gasket change? Exactly what are codes are getting now and what codes did you get before the change?

Are you sure the knocking sound is coming from the head? Have you crawled under it and listened. If the sound is from the pan, you've got a bad rod bearing now.

the before codes were 1 mass air flow n 3 02 sensor codes n after were the same but with 2 random miss fire codes to add on... the nocking is coming from the valve cover n not the pan... could this b a stuck open injector? if it is how much would it cost n wat kind of injector do i need?
