I am looking to buy a new Malibu soon and I dont know if I should go for one now or wait until the April incentives.

The March incentives are the same as last month - 2750 or 0%.....any idea if the April incentives will be better as I dont plan on using the zero % ?

GM incentives are impossible to predict and the dealer is as much in the dark as you are. If you watch over time, you'll know when it's good as compared to average but hitting it at it's peak is just dumb luck. I was shocked to see incentives lowered recently on the extended cab fullsize trucks. I got mine just before but had I done it back in December I could have gotten $500 more yet due to the customer loyalty thing they had going. If your discount is the same as last months, I would say go for it. Don't forget to negotiate with the dealer on top of that though. My cash discounts totalled $4K but I got another $3500 off from the dealer. Oh and while I'm here, did you know that the dealers calculate the tax on your sale and then give you the $4K "cash back"? I don't know if that's just in NY but it was a little irritating.

Thanks for input dansk - just wondering with all shut downs of the plants - when does GM plan to roll out the 2010 versions of thier vehicles ?

Isnt it usually July ?

I recently got a quote and he put the taxes on and then took the rebate, pretty pointless if you ask me

Hmm - I need to check that out when I get my Malibu.....I wonder if they are suspossed to do that - or if its another typical car dealership scheme to bend you over even more.

GM's plan appears to be cut back on production so that dealers aren't overstocked. With production cut back to match demand, prices should increase rather than decrease. GM can then reduce the cash back programs and begin selling for a profit again. Simple rule of supply and demand at work.

We all want our purchase to be below cost... but we want GM to survive. It's not possible to have both for long.

I think the prices are getting ridiculous. If the prices keep going up on them, What I'm driving will be the last new car/trucks I buy.

Same thing I have now cost about $5000 more than I paid as it is now. Personal opinion,... just drop all the crap.. lower the price to a more reasonable price tag and you'll see more in the show rooms. Theres no need for all the advertising and incentives crap if they were priced better to begin with.

There's a dealership near me that sells program/lease-back cars for several thousand under KBB resale, actually closer to KBB's trade in price, and they sell more than 150 cars a day. No bullshit trading either. What ever KBB says your car/trucks worth, thats what they give you period. If you walk in on a saturday morning.. there's no less than 150 people in the showroom easy and they sell in the neighborhood of 300-400 cars on a nice saturday.

Sell more for less... and make more profit.

So, where do you live at and what is the name of the dealership you are talking about?

Bellefonte, Pa... and the dealership is located just outside altoona.

check them out. Keep in mind, what you see on the website, most of the time is what was there,.. not what IS there.

I agree the prices are ridiculous. They better do something because that Cummins is calling my name with that lifetime warranty.

Most of the time, what you see on the website is what they had, not what they have. :)

They will hold if you call ahead.
