How To Remove Decal Stickers?

on my previous black truck i had accidentaly blew them off my truck with to much psi on the pressure washer. u could always see where they were . who knows how to remove them the best way?? thanks

Use a heat gun or blow dryer to warm the decal up. Then peel it back against it's self so you're not pulling out towards yourself. After you get it off you will have some adhesive left. I asked the detail shop near me what they use to remove the adhesive and they use Ronsol lighter fluid because it's gentle on the paint unlike Goo Gone. Pour some on a soft clean rag and hold it aginst the adhesive. Try not to scratch with your fingernail to much. Let the solvent soften the adhesive enough so it just rubs off with the rag. Wax and polish the area and you're done.

yeah thats what i thaught. just didnt know what needs to be done after it gets peeled off. i wonder how hard it will be to find that lighter fluid in alberta canada. does anyone else know if there is other shit u can use to get the extra adhesive off?

Charcoal starter is about the same thing....You do have barbeque grills up there...Right?

 

It is about the same but has a little more naphtha in it so it soaks into the charcoal faster instead of soaking a wick.

 

Either way it's very safe for the paint finish which is what matters here. Goo Gone is ok, it's just a little hard on the clear coat. If you can't find the lighter fluid, then any auto parts store will have Goo Gone.

I use 3M Adhesive Remover. Works great!!!

I use fishing line and my thumbs and then a little Goo-Gone to remove the remaining adhesive. If you hit it with a clay bar most newer vehicles won't show any sign at all that they were ever there. Like said above, a good polishing compound can help too.

What the hell would you use 4 lb. test for? I kept breaking 20 lb. test when I did mine.
