i bought my truck with the lift already done, it is the fabtech 6" lift. the front end rides SUPER stiff, almost like there is no suspension. Is this normal? Can i do anything about it?

Change the shocks to adjustable ones. The brand is all preference. I like Rancho 9-way adjustables.

if it sits level I'd check to see if the torsion bolts have been turned if you have them on your truck. That can make it stiffier but shocks will improve alot if they are shot

Before you just throw money at the truck by buying new shocks, can you get some pictures of your front suspension setup (CV/ball joint angles preferably).

Exactly Dan.... Bobby, get us those pics and we can tell if your torsion-bars have been cranked (which WILL stiffen up your ride) or not. I am not too familiar with the lifts for your body style, but I do know that to acheive the advertised hieght of the kit, the manufactures had you crank the t-bars.

ya i forgot these have torsion bars! i bet thats the culprit. i will get pix up tomorrow!

 

lets say i decrank for ridability, how can i level the truck back up?

What pressure are you running in those tires? Dumb thing, but some M/Ts can be rock-hard at high pressures...I'd say yours should be around 35 psi.

 

The CVs are a little high but not that bad (speaking from experience, my buddy has a 91 GMC 2500 and his CVs are almost 45 degrees off).

Yeah the CV angles are pretty steep, but that's to be expected with a knuckle lift. CVs don't directly affect ride quality, they are just a good indicator of how your front end is set up. Your BJ and tie rod angles look to be just fine, so the stiffness isn't coming from being over-cranked (in my opinion, at least).

 

Scott just mentioned what we all should've mentioned first, check your tire pressure and we'll see where we can go from there.
