Ready Lift

i was thinking about doing this with the rear blocks and was wondering how this kit is and should i use a 33x12.x17 or a 305/65/17 on the stock 17 inch rims. i've read a bunch of the other post and don't see any post about it

i see that the mickey thompson has the 33x12.5 and the 305/65 as the same tire. i was thinking about these tires

You will most likely rub at full lock with those tires, and absolutely will in reverse.

 

I had a 2" level kit on my truck with 305/55/20's (33.2 x 12s) on my 08 and it rubbed ALOT. even with as much trimming as I could do, it was rubbing metal.

 

The problem isnt the height of the tires, its the width.. If u want to run a 33 without doing a real lift on these trucks you gotta go with a skinnier tire.

I too attempted to run 305/55/20's on my current wheels with only a 2" leveling kit and it was brutal. However, if you are keeping the factory wheels, that will help out with clearance issues.

so it wouldn't help if i machined another spacer for the bottom. that would just raise the truck more and not help with the tires rubbing. so what size should i go with the mt's on the stock 17 inch mag wheel

285/70/17 maybe or 265/70R17 the 265 is a inch narrower and a inch smaller in diameter and $50 less a tire. hell the 305 is cheaper than the 285. i wouldn't mind going to the 265 as long as it doesn't look funny with it being that much narrower. how wide is our stock tire

Your on the right path with the skinnier tires. I think 265 might look a little too pizza cutterish.. but the 285s might be the ticket. You will have a good extra inch of clearance and a little bit of a meaner looking tire. I cant gaurantee u wont rub but I know the width of the 305 is what was killing me.
