7.5" Rough Country Lift

Has anyone put the 7.5" rough country lift on an 08 sierra 1500 yet. I have and I am having some problems with braking. Looking for answers.

what size wheels and tires did you put on there. what kind of breaking issues are you having? not stopping good? vibrating bad when you hit brake pedal?

Bad vibration when I hit brakes. For some reason my stablitrak is off and I think it has something to do with that. I have 35's with 18" wheels. Not sure why I lost my stabilitrak.

If you're running aftermarket wheels, they are probably interfering with the clips that are on the rear studs. They are there to hold the drums together during assembly, but are not necessary once assembled. If you haven't removed those, give it a shot, and I'll bet the vibration goes away.

Can't help with the stabilitrak issues though.

yah what he said.. I had the same problem, it was just the tiny insignificant clips on the rear drum. Its incredible how much vibration those little things can produce. Take them off and you will be fine. I duno about the stabilitrak, but your vibrations will go away.

Double check all of your ABS sensor wires that were disconected during dissassembly, if they are not all clean and conected tightly, it could be shutting down stabilitrac. Hope this helps.

I removed the clips, and no more vibration. Thanks alot. Still no stabilitrak.

Nice...any stabilitrak issues usually come from a ABS sensor wire/connection. Did you do the install? If not, take it back to the place that did and have them fix it. More then likely, they or you pinched/cut/didn't connect something back up. I know when I was installing mine, I came close to breaking them.

Lets just say that the CV Spacers are made of a plastic/composite type material. The kit is also not a full-drop kit, so your CV angles won't be the greatest. If you have a 2WD, then the kit is decent.

what about the 5" rough country lift running 33s and 18r?

would y'all recommend it for my 2wd 2007 1500 LTZ silverado

That would be a great kit for your set-up. 33's are perfect on it too. Someone also has a kit that can make the 5" go up to the 7.5" for cheap. If you ever want to go higher down the road, the option is there.

This might seem like the super obvious answer to your StabiliTrac issue...but you don't have the button turned OFF do you!? Like I said...might be a stupid comment...but then again sometimes the obvious are not always THAT obvious!

I have the Denali model and there is a "traction" button on the lower cluster of buttons below the thermostat controls that if pushed once turns off the Stabilitrac and if held for 5 seconds turns off the AutoRide too. If it were to get "bumped" and you don't notice the tiny yellow indicator light...that may be your issue!? Then again...not sure if the Sierra's have the same button as the Sierra Denali's!?

We have the same button, well I guess it might depend on your interior package. As far as I know, it all turns back on with each cycle of the ignition.
